From food policies to everyday practice.

Aurora Fertile is the operational and territorial layer of the Programma Sistema del Cibo Aurora–Porta Palazzo. It translates the city’s food-policy objectives into concrete, measurable changes inside restaurants, delis, food workshops, shops and other local micro-businesses.

Through listening, audits, measurement, training and digital tools, it supports businesses in improving purchasing, stock management, storage, production, sales and surplus management, identifying where waste is generated, what causes it and which actions can reduce it.

The project produces baselines, improvement plans and aggregated indicators that are useful to the local area and to food-policy monitoring. It connects with existing services and networks — from surplus recovery to organic-waste management, from research to business representation — while focusing on the level that is currently least covered: the everyday processes of food businesses.

Aurora–Porta Palazzo is the first urban testing ground for the model, designed to be replicated in other Turin neighbourhoods.
